Call for conference presentation at IFORS2014:

The IFORS Triennial 2014 Conference will bring operational researchers from around the globe together in one of the world's most beautiful locations in Barcelona at the Centre de Convencions Internacional de Barcelona.

We would like to invite you to chair a session or present a paper in the area of “Business Analytics Optimization and Big Data”. The aim of this stream is bringing together scholars and practitioners interested in Analytics and Optimization to address current developments and challenges to organize, store, manage, protect, analyse, mine and optimise Big Data, and to benefit society, industry, academia, and government.

Major topics include but not limited to: analytics techniques in Big Data; managing Big Data and Cyber-security; architectures for massively parallel processing; Big Data mining tools and techniques; machine learning algorithms for Big Data, algorithms and systems for Big Data search, visualization analytics for Big Data, software / algorithms to support any aspect of Big Data computation, large-scale modelling for social media, and optimization modelling for Big Data.

We also encourage practitioners to present their experiences of dealing with complex Big Data applications in science, engineering, medicine, healthcare, finance, business, law, education, transportation, retailing, telecommunication, and others.

Important Deadlines:



Each presenter should produce a title and an abstract of up to 600 characters maximum. This will appear in the conference handbook given to all delegates. Remember, the abstract should be phrased in a way to attract people to your presentation.

Abstracts should not contain mathematical symbols, graphs, tables, or references. The abstract should state if the paper is theoretical, practical, or a mix of the two. It should indicate important methodological information and major results.

For this conference you only need to submit a title and abstract, it is not compulsory to produce a full paper in order to present at the conference. It is not compulsory for any presenter to produce a formal paper.
